ABOUT
Belfast-based floral designer Ruth focuses on the intricate details of floristry to tell a story - merging her life experiences from her rural Irish upbringing with a decade spent in London and studying Theatre Arts at Goldsmiths University.
She returned to Northern Ireland in 2019 and trained in floristry in Co. Down. This nurtured her exploration into florals as an artform and intensified her passion for nature and the local environment.
She works with environmental awareness, using foam free design, sustainable mechanics and minimising water wastage and single use plastics. She uses seasonal, locally grown flowers when possible, some as close as her mum's small cut flower farm in Co. Down.
Ruth's signature look is wild, natural and immersive, celebrating the seasons and nature's own stylings. Every element of design holds importance and it is this detail-oriented approach that brings each aspect of the experience together - from the trailing ribbons on a bridal bouquet to large scale installations.
Ruth is available for commissions for bespoke floral design for weddings and celebrations, exhibitions, theatre, film/TV and private workshops.

At Roots Florals, every project is unique and we work closely with the client to hear their dreams and make them a reality. Usually we meet to discuss thoughts and ideas and then the team will devise an individual and bespoke design. We love adding in thoughtful details and touches to make the project truly custom and personal.
